Look back over 2021

2021 started very slowly for the club with on field activity started in late April ending in a blaze of glory in December.

The club lotto recommenced on line live on facebook on Monday nights back in January. We got a great response to our St Patricks night special lotto draw for €1,000 which was won by David Duggan.

Rebel Bounty was relaunched and again it was a very successful fundraiser for the club. Tickets for 2022 can be purchased now. (another plug - Rebels' Bounty - Cork GAA (ergogroup.ie) remember to nominate Courcey Rovers)

Wellness Webinar 'With the journey comes emotional health' in conjunction with Kinsale Community School and KYSS was hosted by Courcey Rovers on the 11.03.2021. It comprised of a interview with guest speaker Conor Cusack and a Q & A sessions afterwards. Feedback from the event was excellent and our club participants on screen and behind the scenes did the club and their parish proud.

This year saw registration of all our players move online through Foireann and also ticket sales for games.

During the year we said goodbye to Trevor Patchett our resident club photographer for many years who relocated back to England.

The parish was very proud on All Ireland Hurling Final Sunday when Sean Twomey was a member of the Cork panel and equally proud when Cork won the U20 All Ireland Hurling final and Sean was again a member of the team.

A lot of parishioners made the journey to Croke Park to support Linda Collins as captain of the Cork senior camogie team and her team mates Saoirse McCarthy and Fiona Keating in the All Ireland Final.   It was not to be Corks Day. While also supporting the Cork Intermediates Camogie with Aisling Moloney as captain along with Grainne Hannon and Kevin as selector.

We salute our U12's, U13's, U15's and U17's who all won their respective competitions. But the icing on the cake was the Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship wining the county championship and achieving Senior A Status next year. They have finished the year waiting to play the Munster Intermediate Final in January. It has been some roller coaster ride with extra time and games going to the right down to the wire but we would not have it any other way to be still in championship going into January 2022.
