Courcey Rovers GAA Club, established in 1947 is composed of members from the villages of Ballinspittle and Ballinadee as well as the surrounding areas. The club has seen some great times too during those years including Premier Intermediate Hurling and Senior Camogie County titles in recent times and as the club celebrates its 75th anniversary, it is now embarking on another exciting phase in its history.
To build on and maintain these successes and to cater for an increase in playing numbers, at the 2021 AGM a development group was tasked with designing a Development Plan to enhance match & training facilities.
At a Special Meeting in October 2022 members of the Courcey Rovers GAA, Ladies Football and Camogie clubs voted unanimously to approve the Development Plan proposed by the development group following extensive consultation with members and supporters in the wider community.
Phase 1 involves developing Pitch2 to extend the length and installing a new sand-based pitch with improved drainage, lighting and fencing. In addition an irrigation system will be installed on both Pitch1 and Pitch2
In May 2023 a planning application was submitted, followed by a Sports Capital Grant application in September 2023. The Courcey Rovers Pitch Development fundraising effort was launched in October 2023 to raise the balance required. In Sept 2024, a Sports Capital Grant of €128,732 was awarded.
