Rebel Og Academy Development Squads - 2016-02-12 15:04:00

Following the previous last weekend’s U15 & U16 Finals, last Saturday saw eight U14 teams take to the field in the U14 Regional squads in St Vincent’s for the play off of the U14 Cup and Plate. After a tournament that has been run over the last several weeks alongside the U15 & U16 tournament, the eight squads were competing for top spots in both the Cup and the Plate. It was great to see so many good young footballers playing with almost 160 players taking to the field in the four final.  For photos and details click… http://rebelogcoaching.com/regional-squads-u14-football-finals-6216/

U14 Results were as follows:

A Cup Final: Cork South West A beat Cork North A

B Cup Final; Cork South West B drew with Cork North B

A Plate Final: Cork Mid-West A beat Cork City A

B Plate Final: Cork Mid-West B beat Cork City B

All regional football teams have now been disbanded and county squads will be selected in the coming months. With this in mind, two countyU14 teams are scheduled to play Waterford over the mid-term break, with a selection of players at U15 and U16 level in both football and hurling assembling in the Mardyke Arena over the mid-term.

Hurling coordinator Sean Crowley organised trials at U15 and U16 level on Saturday last for players outside of the regional squads. Many thanks to all players who attended despite the terrible weather conditions. Football coordinator James McCarthy will run similar football trials in the next week or so.
