Friday 14th November Bishopstown GAA Club
CG002 WARM UP FOR YOUTH AND ADULT PLAYERS (GAELIC 15)
Dr Declan Bowler, Dr Catherine Blake and Dr Edwina O Malley
7pm – 9pm
The GAA Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee in conjunction with a working group comprising of Dr. Pat O’Neill, Prof. Niall Moyna, Dr. Pat Duggan, Dr. Kieran Moran, John C. Murphy, Dr. Catherine Blake, and Edwina O’Malley have developed the GAA 15, a standardised warm-up programme aimed at reducing the number of injuries sustained by GAA players.
The programme is dynamic and replicates movement patterns that players will execute during the game. This workshop will show coaches the latest scientific methods and technical details of the warm up exercises that best prepare players for the game or training session.
This is a must see for coaches of adult and youth players.

CG003 COACHING OFFICERS' WORKSHOP

9.30am – 1pm €10 per person
This workshop is for club Coaching Officers. Every club should be represented at this workshop as it maps out the key ingredients for a successful coaching and games structure for clubs at child and youth level.
Ger O'Connor heads up Coach Education in Dublin and has compiled a book on club nursery programmes. Ger will help guide Coaching Officers in how to set up and run club nursery programmes. We will also have profiles of Ballincollig and other GAA clubs looking at what they are doing to take their clubs to the next level. Cork Coaching & Games staff will also outline to clubs the supports available in 2015.

CG003 GAMES BASED APPROACH TO FOOTBALL

Niall Cooper (Dublin Games Development Officer)
7pm-9pm €10 per person
Aimed at club coaches of youth and adult players. Niall is a full time development officer with Dublin GAA and brings a wealth of coaching experience to this workshop. Niall is very much focused on challenging players and will demonstrate lots of games and activities on the night, which will get the players thinking on their feet rather than the traditional drill method. Coaches of football club teams should prioritise attendance at this workshop.
