On Saturday last the club held the annual Johnny Murray U12 Hurling Tournament. The teams that took part were Barryroe, Sliabh Rua, Ballygarvan and Courcey Rovers.
The Late Johnny Murray R.I.P. along with his wife Hannah was a life long supporter of Courcey Rovers especially the underage section. Johnny passed away in 1995 and the competition started in 1998 with Glen Rovers being the first winners. Courcies have won it 6 times along with Carrigaline, Tracton, Kilbrittain and Timoleague.
Micheal Roche grandson of Johnny Murray presented the shield to the captain of Ballygarvan who won the competition this year.
The Courcey Rovers team were Gary Moore, Shane Corcoran, Eanna McCarthy, Aartyon McCarthy, D.J. Twomey, Aidan O'Donovan, Daniel Keating, Matthew Whitehead, William Jefferies, Tomas Russel, Cian McCarthy, Oisin Ruxton, Sean Hayes, Owen O'Leary, Cillian Hickey, Jack O'Callaghan and James Crowley.
Referees for the day were Daniel Nyhan and Pat Keohane.
