Trevor Patchett and his wife Sue are re-locating to his native UK to be near his loved ones and grandchildren. Trevor has enjoyed a good bit of retirement here in The Old Head of Kinsale. From the start, Trevor was a Courcey Rovers supporter, first with the GAA Club and not long after with the ladies of Courcey Rovers Camogie and Ladies football.
Trevor has a great interest in all the Gaelic games and as a hobby he loved to photograph the players in action. This was a new phenomenon for local matches and he produced some wonderful action shots at many local games. He has a great skill and loved to exhibit that skill and all the Clubs supporters and players were in awe of his fabulous shots.
Trevors’ shots enhanced reports on the Southern Star as well as The Courcey Chronicle and other publications. Mostly he did shots for Courcey Rovers and all in a voluntary capacity. Not only did Trevor help out with photographs but he made many friends in Courcey Rovers GAA both adult and under age, as well as in Courcey Rovers Camogie and Ladies Football. Through the Camogie he also got involved in Action photography for County matches and did some great action shots there too.
Trevor earned a great respect in Courcey Rovers Clubs and Parish. He was a great friend in helping out with many of our fundraising events with his photography. The Clubs made Trevor a presentation on last Saturday at the Courcey Rovers grounds. Chairman of Courcey Rovers GAA Club Sean O’ Callaghan and Brian Barry Chairman of Courcey Rovers Camogie and Ladies Football Club thanked him sincerely for his work to our Club.
He did some wonderful shots of the Summer Camps and featured this in a beautiful calender in 2019. He produced this in conjunction with Michael Prior to do some fundraising for the Club.
His final accolade was a very tasteful collage of winning photos of the greatest win in 2020 for Courcey Rovers and that was of the County Championship win for Courcey Rovers Camogie team in the Senior A 2020 final over Inniscarra. This was presented recently by Trevor to the ladies recently. Wishing Trevor and Sue continued happiness in the UK for the future from all in Courceys Parish and we issue a huge thank you to both.
