Round 1 – Sixteen teams (eight games). Winners to Round 3. Losers to Round 2. Round 2 – Eight teams. Four games. Winners to Round 3. Losers eliminated and play off down to the bottom two teams in the championship. Round 3 – Twelve teams – Four games and 4 byes. Only teams that won their Round 1 fixture can get a bye in this round.
