John Horan from Dublin is the GAA’s new Uachtarán Tofa. He was elected by a massive majority of 144
out of a possible 278 votes at Congress and will succeed Aogán Ó Fearghail in 12 months’ time.
A life-long member as a player, coach and administrator with the Na Fianna club, the 58 year-old is a principal in St Vincent’s CBS ain Glasnevin.
He defeated Kerry’s Sean Walsh and Galway’s Frank Burke who polled 46 votes each. Longford’s Martin Skelly received 22 votes with Clare’s Robert Frost securing 20 votes.
