Offical opening of the new Lusitania Memorial Garrden - 2017-05-06 11:11:00

Tomorrow the 7th of May see's the official opening of the Lusitania Memorial and iconic Wave sculpture by Minister Simon Coveney and in the presence of Cllr Seamus McGrath, Mayor of County Cork. The sculptors of this beautiful masterpiece are Liam Lavern and Eithne Ring and their work has wonderfully captured the history of the Lusitania.

We will also be commemorating those who lost their lives and indeed survived the sinking of the Lusitania. Sunday the 7th of May is the 102nd anniversary of the sinking.

We are very happy to invite the public to join us to commemorate the sinking of the Lusitania and indeed the official opening of the Memorial Garden.

Attendee's should assemble not later than 1:45pm and the ceremony starts at 2pm Sharp. Parking facilities will be available but please arrive early.

The memorial Garden and Signal Tower are open, free to the public after the ceremony.
